IndexTools Privacy Policy
IndexTools, a Yahoo! Service, is firmly committed to privacy. This policy discloses our information collection and use practices for IndexTools Web Analytics and the IndexTools website. To learn more about how Yahoo! uses information, please see the Yahoo! Privacy Policy.
IndexTools uses a browser-based tracking system to identify and track visitors to our customers' websites. We use cookie and web beacon technology to identify details about where visitors go and what they do while visiting these sites. This allows our customers to improve their websites by increasing the effectiveness of the messages, site navigation options, and advertising campaigns presented to users. We require our customers to post information about data collection practices in their respective privacy policies.

Information for Visitors to IndexTools Customer Websites
IndexTools allows our customers to specify the types of information we collect about visitors to their websites. This generally consists of anonymous data sent by your web browser to us as part of your interaction with our customer's website, such as IP address, time spent on web pages, links clicked, or advertisements viewed on those pages. This data is sent to IndexTools through web beacon and cookie technology so we can report statistical information back to the customer. IndexTools and our parent company Yahoo! may use the anonymous data we collect in order to improve our products and services and provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to users.
Our customers may request that we collect customized data fields on their behalf. This may include personal information such as email address. We do not share customer reports or any personal information of users with third parties.
IndexTools does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people or non-affiliated companies except when we have your permission or under the following circumstances:
- To provide reporting to the IndexTools customer who initially provided us with your personal information;
- To respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims;
- We believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of our terms of use, or as otherwise required by law; or
- If IndexTools is acquired by or merged with another company.
Web Beacon Use, Cookie Use & Data Collection
IndexTools uses web beacons and cookies to provide services to our customers. Typically, Web beacons (also known as "clear GIFs") are small transparent images built into the coding of a webpage and used with cookies to help identify user interactions with a website. IndexTools' cookies do not include personal information such as name, age, or phone number. However, our customers sometimes request that we include personal information, such as an email address, in the web beacon's data fields. Our customers provide this personal information for us to insert into the IndexTools database and we use this personal information only on our customer's behalf.
Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. If you would prefer, you can set your browser to reject cookies, but you may not be able to sign in or use other features of websites that use cookies as part of the user experience.

If at any time a user does not wish to have information about their use of customer websites be collected by IndexTools or Yahoo!, they may opt-out of such collection by clicking here.
